FAQs

1. What makes Get Smart Learning different?

Our mission is simple: to provide professional, engaging and enthusiastic in-person and online tutoring for children K- 6.

Our tutors have been selected not only because of their qualifications and experience, but possibly more importantly because they share our philosophy to provide a safe caring and understanding environment for each of the children they tutor.

Yes, we all want better results for our children, and for them to develop into independent, empowered young adults. Sometimes we need to look at the reasons why our children are not succeeding all on their own. Once we understand their challenges we can often deal with these and the results will be come self-evident.

At Get Smart Learning matching our students with the right tutor is so very important. We consider each of the elements of student/tutor compatibility including, ethnicity, hobbies and common interests. Obviously the tutor’s academic and teaching experience are also important elements of compatibility. At the end of the day we all want your child to end up with a tutor relationship, which is a trusted relationship, coupled with strong social rapport.

Each of our tutor’s possesses valuable experience and qualifications and is individually committed to each of their student’s success.

2. What are the benefits and advantages of having a tutor?

Tutoring presents many benefits and advantages to both students and parents. We have found that students request tutoring because of two main reasons:

They are struggling in class and can’t keep up with the work and/or teacher.

They are already getting very good results in class, but want to attain a competitive edge.

Our tutors attend the lessons with the intent of encouraging the student to think for themselves, and to feel confident completing their assessments. During your first lesson, the tutor will aim to get to know you, understanding your personality, your learning style, your interests and your aspirations. They will then tailor their lessons according to your requirements. If you are unsure about what your requirements are, then make sure you advise the tutor and he/she will aim to work this out for you.

3. What level is my child?

Our Get Smart Learning Early Primary Aged Programs are based on ages so it’s easy to find the class your child should be in. If you have previously attended our classes the colour tabs on the timetable are still the same.
